Privacy policy
The short version: you can use Cover Three without telling us who you are, we collect the minimum needed to make the app work, and we never sell or share your data. Last updated July 3, 2026.
You start anonymous
When you first visit, we create an anonymous account for you — no name, no email, nothing to fill in. It exists so your followed teams and watch/skip picks can be saved. If you later create a real account (email + password), it’s the same account with the same data; the only thing that changes is that you can sign in from other devices.
What we store
- Your team choices — teams you follow or mute.
- Your game picks — games you mark watch or skip. These also feed the anonymous “N watching” counters, which are aggregate numbers only.
- Notification settings — whether alerts are on and which kinds, plus a push subscription (a browser token, not your identity) if you enable them, and a log of alerts we’ve sent you so we never send the same one twice.
- Email + password — only if you choose to upgrade from anonymous. Passwords are handled by Supabase (our auth provider) and we never see them.
- Theme preference.
What we deliberately don’t do
- No selling or sharing data. Ever, to anyone.
- No ad networks, no ad tracking. There are no ads.
- No cross-site tracking or fingerprinting. Our analytics (Fathom) are privacy-focused, cookieless, and aggregate — they tell us how many people visited, not who you are.
- No selling to sportsbooks, no betting integrations.
Who processes data on our behalf
Supabase hosts our database and authentication. Vercel hosts the site. Upstash provides caching. Sentry receives error reports when something breaks (errors, not browsing history). Fathom provides aggregate, privacy-first usage stats. Push notifications are delivered by your browser’s push service (Apple, Google, or Mozilla). That’s the complete list.
Deleting your data
Sign out and your anonymous account is orphaned — the picks tied to it are no longer connected to anything identifying you. If you created an account and want it fully deleted, email us and we’ll remove it and everything attached to it.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we’ll say so in the app — not bury it. Questions? See also the terms of service.
